Who We Are

Bridges Sober Living Apartments provides structured, non-clinical sober living housing in Los Angeles. We are not a treatment provider, and we do not offer detox, medical care, or therapy.

Because we operate sober living homes, we have an interest in the topics we write about. Some articles mention Bridges and our services.

We aim to keep all content balanced, including explaining when other options, such as treatment or outpatient care, may be a better fit.

Our Editorial Principles

Accuracy

Our content is based on current research, government health agencies, and recognized recovery organizations. We do not publish claims we cannot support.

Clarity

Recovery information can feel overwhelming. We write in plain language and explain terms when we use them.

Respect

We write with empathy for people at every stage of recovery and for the families who support them. We avoid stigmatizing language and do not use fear to motivate readers.

How Our Content Is Created and Reviewed

Step 1- Writing

Articles are written by contributors with experience in sober living, recovery support, and recovery housing operations. Each author has a profile page describing their background.

Step 2- Clinical review

Every article covering health, mental health, substance use, medications, or treatment is reviewed before publication by our clinical reviewer:

Sheldon Cohen, LMFT

Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, California License #132609

Sheldon holds a Master of Arts in Psychology from Phillips Graduate University. He has nearly a decade of clinical experience working with individuals, couples, and families affected by substance use disorders, anxiety, depression, trauma, and relationship challenges.

Step 3- Final check

Before publishing, we confirm that a cited source supports every factual claim and that all links work.

Sources We Use

We rely first on peer-reviewed research and government health agencies, then on recognized professional and recovery organizations.

Sources are cited within each article, with links wherever possible.

What Every Article Includes

  • Author name, linked to their profile
  • Reviewer name and credentials, for health and clinical topics
  • Original publication date
  • Last updated date
  • A list of cited sources

How We Keep the Content Current

Research and best practices in recovery change over time. We review published articles regularly and update them when guidance changes, when better sources become available, or when we find something unclear.

When an article is meaningfully updated, its Last Updated date changes.

Corrections

If you believe something we published is inaccurate or out of date, email info@soberapartmentsla.com with the article title and the issue. We review every report. If a correction is needed, we update the article and its Last Updated date.

Use of AI Tools

We may use AI tools to assist with research or drafting. A person writes or edits every article, fact-checks it against cited sources, and, for health topics, has a licensed professional review it before publication.

Advertising and Affiliate Disclosure

Any content published on this site does not carry third-party advertising, and we do not earn commission on any product or service mentioned in our content. When we link to another organization, it is because we have verified and believe that the information is useful. It is not part of a commercial arrangement.

Privacy and Resident Stories

We share resident or alumni stories only with written permission. We change or remove identifying details unless the person asks to be named.
